By about age 9, I knew I was different. I was special. I was attracted to boys. Growing up in an ultra-conservative, fundamental baptist home, provided enough negative feedback for me to unilaterally conclude at age 9 that I was a mistake; God's mistake. Now what would be God's purpose in creating mistakes? I recall sharing with my precious Mom, at the age of 19, that I was gay. She asked if I wanted to marry a man. I said, "I can't.
