12,000 people braved the rain over the weekend to attend Pride in Liverpool, in the north of England.
The annual parade took place on Saturday 27 July. Pridegoers gathered to celebrate the community according to 2019’s theme #ComeAsYouAre.
Marchers first mustered on St. George’s Plateau, with the parade then working its way around Liverpool City Center. The march finally culminated in Tithebarn Street, the site of the music festival.

Following the parade, electropop artist Little Boots and lesbian singer Saara Aalto took to the main stage. Moreover, Katy Alex, House of Suarez and Daisy Gill performed.
Honoring an adorable Pride day trend, Pride in Liverpool also featured a marriage proposal.
He said…

Pride in Liverpool co-chair John Bird proposed to his now fiancé Allan in front of a swooning crowd.
Bird had previously tweeted about the inclement weather.
Thank you for everyone’s patience today.
The weather has not been on side and those remaining on site have kept the energy up.
It’s been a hard day so far but thank you. #PrideInLiverpool
