Pour yourself some hot cocoa and cozy up to Amazon Music’s new mini-documentary, Mariah Carey Is Christmas: The Story of “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which focuses on the making of her beloved holiday anthem.

The 11-minute doc, unwrapping the festive tale of how Carey’s 1994 tune turned into a seasonal staple, includes new commentary from producer Randy Jackson, backup singer Trey Lorenz, top music journalists, and the pop diva herself.

“I just remember where I was coming from, as a writer and a producer, creating the song and wanting it to feel like a classic and a modern classic,” the five-time Grammy winner explains. “It was an accomplishment for me that I was really proud of.”

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” is currently at No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100, matching its peak during the 2018 holiday season. The song has also hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart for the second holiday season in a row, and it’s spending its second week this season (37th week overall) atop Billboard’s Holiday 100.

Carey celebrated the 25th anniversary of her iconic holiday album, Merry Christmas, with a special deluxe edition release.

She also gifted fans with an updated “All I Want for Christmas Is You” video featuring unreleased footage from the original.

The elusive chanteuse wraps up her 2019 holiday tour tonight at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
