  1. "I would have preferred for civil partnerships to be available to heterosexual and gay couples nd for marriage to have remained as a Christian service that was for men and women who wanted to commit in the eyes of God."
Marriage is, in her view, a christian invention.

  2. She says she would've preferred for marriage to remain a Christian institution between a man and a woman, but she absolutely supports gay marriage? How does that work?

  3. Let's see if you are able to have a gay marriage in a Mosque or Synagogue. THOSE BIGOT CHRISTIANS!!! HOW DARE THEY!!!

  4. are you saying atheists cant get married and only can have a civil partnership that what i make of this and this means if your a gay chris you can get married this is silly marriage is also recognised in none and other religions also it not just about religion it about the rights you get when your marriage if you did this i expect civil partnership to have more rights the same as marriage if you do that you mite as well say your married so pointless

  5. The delusion under which many Christians and bible-thumpers operate is that everyone should follow their rules and definition of marriage…whether or not they are also Christian appears to be irrelevant to them.  Sorry, but not everyone believes as you do.  Get over it.

  6. Lets be sensible here now. Christian marriage shouldn't have to be forced into accepting gay people to take part. The Bible is very clear on it's view of homosexuality, thus a CHRISTIAN celebration can and should remain heterosexual, as God, if he does exist would want that for the Christian church.
However, if we are willing to accept that God doesn't exist, and that the Bible is a dated piece of fiction, we should be open to gay marriage. However, in doing this, I think we should remove marriage from being a Christian celebration – the church is undeniably clear on its view of homosexuality. This may essentially just be a 'civil partnership'.
However, we could just ignore what Christianity demands and allow gays to have a traditional Christian marriage. This is very strange to me however, as if God did in fact exist to witness the CHRISTIAN marriage dedicated to HIM then the gay people getting the marriage would undeniably be banished to eternal torture. How stupid is religion, fucking hell.

  7. "i think marriage should be between a man and a woman and that marriage should only be in the church with that exact requiremnent. but then again i support gay marriage regardless"

  8. This doesn't make sense…so she supports same-sex marriage but she would have preferred that the legislation proclaimed marriage to be between a man and a woman?
