Anti-LGBT Hate Group Leader Urges Followers To Buy Pillows To ‘Stand Up’ For Christianity

Tony Perkins, the head of the anti-LGBTQ hate group Family Research Council, is urging his group’s followers to buy pillows to show their support for Christians like disgraced MyPillow CEO, Mike Lindell.

The far-right evangelical leader sent an email to his supporters in support of Lindell after he was permanently banned from Twitter for spreading false and repeatedly debunked claims of election fraud during the November presidential election. Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohl’s, and other retailers have since cut ties with My Pillow.

Fintech startup Affirm has also cut ties. According to Lindell, numerous other stores including H-E-B, Kroger, and BJ’s have told MyPillow they will also stop selling the company’s products.

Lindell called companies’ decisions to cut ties “100% cancel culture.” The CEO is facing a legal threat from voting-technology company Dominion tied to his false allegations that President Joe Biden stole the election.

In his email, Perkins claims Lindell is a victim of “cancel culture” despite his organization’s regular condemnations of various businesses and calls for boycotts.

“The cancel culture would love nothing better than to shut up Christians and drive them from the public square,” Perkins wrote. “That’s a lot harder to do when we refuse to live in fear of anyone but God.”

“It takes a lot of courage to speak the truth when your livelihood is on the line. So when these business leaders are attacked — like Mike and [Goya CEO] Bob Unanue — we need to support them,” he continued. “Maybe you don’t need another pillow or mattress pad — buy one anyway. There are so many spineless and cowardly people out there.”

“When you actually find one who’s going to stand up for their convictions — a pastor, business leader, or politician — stand with them. That’s how we fight back. That’s how we win,” the email states.
