Charli XCX Gets All Wet With Christine and the Queens in “Gone” Music Video

2019 is proving to be the year of nonsensical music videos. Why was Taylor Swift dressed as french fries in “You Need to Calm Down”? What heartbreak cult was Katy Perry a part of in “Never Really Over”?

But this new video for “Gone,” the team-up between Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens, might be the kicker.

The video opens with Charli and Christine tied up on a car—who put them there and why?—when Christine finally breaks free and cuts Charlie loose. The two divas proceed to have a dance-off of sorts as literal flames erupt around them. Then they get drenched by rain—and closer to one another—as the video goes on.

By the end, you will be clutching your pearls, but also singing along. Isn’t that what music videos are all about?

We have so many questions after watching this video, but there are two answers we do know: Is this music video really freaking hot? Yes, ma’am. And is this song a bop? Hell, yes!
