Days after being awarded the Medal of Freedom during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, right-wing talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh wondered how “Mr. Man, Donald Trump” would “have fun” with Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg’s sexuality during the general election.
“So you’re faced with dyed-in-the-wool socialist who’s not even a Democrat,” said Limbaugh, who recently announced that he’s been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. “A gay guy, 37 years old, loves kissing his husband on debate stages. Can you see Trump have fun with that?”
“And they’re saying, ‘OK, how’s this going to look, 37-year-old gay guy kissing his husband on stage next to Mr. Man Donald Trump? What’s going to happen there?’”
“And they got to be looking at that, and they’ve got to be saying, that despite all the great progress and despite all the great wokeness, and despite all the great ground that’s been covered, America’s still not ready to elect a gay guy kissing his husband on the debate stage president,’ he added. “They have to be saying this, don’t they?!”
In response to Limbaugh’s latest homophobic remarks, CNN’s Jake Tapper said that he wasn’t sure how many spouses Limbaugh was up to, but was confident Buttigieg was “married to one man.:
“We should point out Buttigieg is married to one man. I don’t even know what number spouse Limbaugh’s up to.”
“Just days after being awarded the presidential medal of freedom, radio host Rush Limbaugh who has a decades-long record of bigotry against blacks, women and the LGBTQ community attacked Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg because Buttigieg is gay,” the CNN host told viewers.
After playing audio of Limbaugh’s homophobic rant, Tapper added: “Buttigieg has not responded yet. Former Vice President Joe Biden defended Buttigieg saying, ‘Buttigieg who has served in the Navy in Afghanistan has honor and courage.’ ”
“We should point out Buttigieg is married to one man,” Tapper noted, adding, “I don’t even know what number spouse Limbaugh’s up to.”

Republican strategist Ana Navarro blasted Limbaugh’s remark, tweeting: “The guy with the fake-tan, dyed teased-up bouffant, wearing enough pancake make-up to put any I-Hop to shame, who lived in a gilded gold penthouse that makes Liberace look under-stated and got scared by a birdie…is the poster-boy for whatever it is some define as ‘masculine’? ”
