CNN’s Anderson Cooper slammed MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell as a “snake oil salesman” for peddling a daily supplement as a novel coronavirus “cure.”
The devout Trump supporter had previously claimed that the unproven “cure,” called Oleandrin, is “an absolute miracle. I take it every day. I don’t get the virus. I have at least 50 to a hundred of my friends and family. Some that got it, and in two days they’re fine.
The supplement reportedly comes from the Nerium Oleander plant, which is highly toxic and can be fatal.
“You really are like a snake oil salesman,” Cooper told Lindell. “You could be in the Old West standing on a box telling people to drink the amazing elixir that there is no proof.”
“No, I give the glory to god. I do what Jesus has me do,” Lindell fired back.
“You think Jesus wants you out there promoting remedies that are remedies that have never been tested?” Cooper asked.
“I am not money-driven. Why would I do this, ask yourself why would I ruin my reputation if I didn’t believe in this product,” Lindell claimed.
“Money,” Cooper shot back. “You don’t have a great reputation.”
“You settled for a million dollars in California. You have an F from the Better Business Bureau,” Cooper noted.
Lindell then claimed the BBB went after him only after he began supporting President Trump.
“That’s just sad. For a man who expresses Faith, for you to lie like this is really extraordinary,” Cooper said.

Last week, Lindell became a board member for Phoenix Biotechnology, the company that makes Oleandrin. For the past 20 years, the company says it’s been studying the health benefits of Oleander plant extract.
“You can’t get it once you take it. It’s just an oil you put it under your tongue. It’s an extract,” Lindell said.
Lindell, who claims that more than a hundred people have tested it out in unpublished studies, has spoken with President Trump and his team about Oleandrin. However, the FDA has not approved it as a treatment.
Cooper confronted Lindell on Tuesday about his dangerous claims that Oleandrin is a potential “cure,” asking the MyPillow CEO: “How are you different than a snake oil salesman? You have no medical background, you’re not a scientist?”
The CNN host also asked him how he “can sleep at night?” pushing the potentially dangerous supplement to desperate families.
