A conservative Christian organization is calling for a boycott of Disney because the animated show DuckTales has a character with gay dads.
In the season 3 premiere of the show’s reboot last week, Huey, Dewey, and Louie’s friend Violet introduces her dads to the world, who are each wearing “I’m with Dad” T-shirts. Violet says her adopted sister is “my sister from a couple of misters.”

One Million Moms (OMM) is already calling for a boycott of Disney, setting up a website that says, “WARNING! DuckTales is not the same cartoon parents grew up watching.”
OMM is a project of the American Family Association, an SPLC designated hate group based in Mississippi. The group has been making wild accusations against LGBTQ people for years, like saying that gay people are “harmful… to children” and that being gay is like smoking in that “homosexual behavior’s ‘second hand’ effects threaten public health.”
The OMM website calls out co-executive producer Frank Angones for saying that he’s “dedicated to being better and finding new opportunities for three-dimensional representation.”
“It is apparent that this particular producer is not finished with indoctrinating children by exposing them to homosexual relationships through a facade of normalcy,” OMM’s website reads.
The group says that being gay is a “controversial issue” that Disney is “forcing on young audiences.”
OMM encourages readers to pledge that they will “no longer support Disney nor watch DuckTales as long as it veers away from family-friendly entertainment.”
A petition directed at Disney CEO Bob Chapek reads, “I do not agree with the LGBTQ agenda you are forcing on families and children in the reboot series DuckTales. My family will not watch DuckTales nor support your company as long as the network veers away from family-friendly entertainment. I will encourage my friends to do the same.”
The astroturf group does not have a million members. It has one employee who is paid by the American Family Association.
