Dating Show “Are You the One?” Matches With Sexually Fluid Singles

Are you ready for the historic queer twist in Are You the One?

For the hit MTV dating show’s upcoming eighth season, all of the participants identify as sexually fluid, which means there are no longer any gender limitations in making a love connection.

Otherwise, the show is sticking to its signature format: 16 singles will travel to Hawaii in hopes of finding their “perfect match” and splitting a $1 million cash prize.

Host Terrence J will be joined by Dr. Frankie, a relationship expert who specializes in LGBTQ issues. “Dr. Frankie will work with the singles to help them become better daters and navigate between drama, poor choices and recurring patterns in relationships,” according to MTV’s announcement. “In addition, Terrence will work with the love hopefuls like never before, coaching and guiding them to tap into their true feelings and follow their hearts.”

MTV bills this season of Are You the One? as “the first sexually fluid reality dating competition show in the United States.” This unique dating experiment will reportedly feature coming out moments, explore the challenges of dating as a sexually fluid person, and teach audiences about the nuances of sexual and gender identity.

Last year Drag Race fave Courtney Act hosted the U.K. dating show The Bi Life, which featured bisexual, pansexual, and sexually fluid singles.

Meanwhile, the latest season of MTV’s The Real World, which premieres June 13 on Facebook Watch, includes a pansexual feminist and pansexual Trump supporter.

Are You the One? premieres June 26 at 9/8c on MTV. Meet the cast here.
