The Bravo gods may have just blessed us. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been really dragging these past few seasons—Puppygate was a devastating low—until Denise Richards joined the cast last year. The one-time actress and Charlie Sheen ex brought a fun, nonchalant vibe to the show along with her signature cocktail—straight-up tequila—and her well-endowed fiancé-cum-husband Aaron Phypers.
But while Richards and Phyphers tied the knot on camera last season, Richards was allegedly stepping out with another Housewife.
She has stopped filming the upcoming season of RHOBH after “a nasty showdown” that saw her castmates confronting her about a “months-long affair” with former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills regular Brandi Glanville, reports the Daily Mail. The paper, known for its passing acquaintance with the truth, cited “multiple production sources.”
You know, this is almost like that infamous scene from the 1998 movie Wild Things, co-starring Richards and Neve Campbell, except because it’s Bravo, this is more about male gays than the male gaze.
Richards reportedly told Glanville that she and Phypers had an open marriage—which tracks considering how open she was about how they both got off at a couples massage, but we digress—but according to one of these “production sources” that was not the case and this has upset both Glanville and Phypers.
The confrontation took place in Rome during a trip to welcome new cast members Sutton Stracke and the first black woman in the Beverly Hills franchise, actress Garcelle Beauvais. The women took Richards to task for the “nasty things she’d been saying about them,” but Richards brushed it off, which of course led to an escalation. Next thing you know, bombshells are being dropped and Denise Richards is walking off the show.
“It shocked everyone as Denise constantly boasts about how great her husband is, how much she loves him and how large his penis is,” a production source told the Daily Mail. “Clearly she got over his penis and went for something that was being offered on another menu.”
Classy. But in all fairness, Denise did talk a lot about her husband’s penis, which, god bless.
Same, sis.
A rep for Richards flatly denies the story, but the Drop Dead Gorgeous star has reportedly been absent for much of the filming of the upcoming 10th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“The cast of the show had just filmed a big cast party at Dorit and PK’s new home that they allegedly own, and afterwards headed to Kathy and Rick’s party,” an insider told the Mail. “Denise was a no-show at either and that’s when all of Beverly Hills found out. It’s extraordinary that it’s been kept a secret for this long.”
What’s actually extraordinary is that the Daily Mail doesn’t think we’d find out who this alleged insider was. This has Camille Grammar’s fingerprints all over it, particularly the house that Beverly Hills castmate Dorit Kemsley and her husband PK “allegedly own.”
Only a Real Housewife is capable of that kind of backhanded and completely unnecessary shade. Whether it was Camille or not (it probably was), all of this was supposedly captured on camera, so we can see how it all plays out when the 10th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premieres on the earlier side of this year.
