“Designing Women” Is Headed to Hulu

August 26 will be the night. The lights. Go Out. In Georgia!

Designing Women has never been available on a streaming platform, but all seven seasons of the classic sitcom finally be available digitally on August 26, when the Sugarbakers bring their design firm to Hulu.

“We saw these four fabulous women balancing work and home lives, running businesses, handling setbacks and dating. But the show never shied away from tough topics like domestic abuse, homophobia, racism and women’s rights and its themes and storylines continue to have revelance today,” Hulu’s head of originals Craig Erwich tells Deadline.

August 26 also happens to be Women’s Equality Day. Suddenly we have Labor Day weekend plans.

Series creator Linda Bloodworth-Thomason is reportedly working on a Designing Women revival, which was developed last year at ABC, so a Hulu binge would be the perfect way to re-acquaint yourself with the Sugarbakers.

I write about drag queens. Dolly Parton once ruffled my hair and said I was “just the cutest thing ever.”
