I'm a straight young South African man and I believe that the answer to this whole debate is Absolute Liberalism, less government intervention in peoples lives and the promotion of Individualist ideals will ensure proper Democracy where everyone is free to be who they want to be. at the end of the day, we all human, we hurt, we cry, we die… if we say being gay or lesbian is unafrican, the whole notion of what is constituted to be African or not WILL be questioned.
I come from a family of doctors, lawyers, college professors, and so on. I myself probably have way more education than you, which is why I can excuse your ignorance Mr Wipe.
No man or woman should ever be harmed or killed because they had consensual sex. Have you ever had sex sans marriage? If so, in some countries, you can be put to death, regardless your sexual preference. On all counts this is outrageous, absurd and inhumane, and an offense to the God who gives life and procures justice at eternity. Neither Uganda nor any county nor you or I have a right to barbarity. Had I my way, it would be a crime against humanity, punishable with life in prison, for any man or woman who kills adults for having consensual sexual relations, of any kind. Nations and religious sects or other groups practicing the same would be pariahs. This is one instance where the so called "West" is correct not to criminalize consensual adult sexual relations. WE PEOPLE need to keep out of other people's bedrooms. And we have to stop using holy books as an excuse for killing. Period. This is the 21st Century and this kooky, brazen, genocidal nonsense has to stop. NOW! We do not have a right to be backward and self-satisfied when we can do better. Life isn't static. Use your brains to move forward. Homosexual individuals are not the problem. Look in your mirrors and your "problems" will reveal themselves. And call your politicians and other leaders to task when they scapegoat THOSE PEOPLE in your names. They really don't care about the few homosexuals that exist; they want to rile you up to deflect attention from their shortcomings – they're using you to gain power. What don't YOU PEOPLE get? Gays are a convenient pawn. They are not why you fail to prosper economically, socially or educationally, so put a stop to this tactical subterfuge, this mirage. In the end, you look real silly. And the powers that be have what they want. Wake up…and look in the mirror…lol. Prove you are not SUCKERS.

One either wishes to advance the cause of human rights or one does not. It is not correct to mean to apply the principles of dignity and respect to some people but not to others.
The world is changing, you can try to stem the tide as long as you want to but make absolutely no mistake, those who fight for the ADVANCEMENT of human rights, tend to win the argument.

This guys speaks of "The most populous African nation" as if that means anything positive for Nigerians at all – gay or straight. My God, they produce a quarter of the world's oil and STILL manage to have a very sizeable section of their population living diseased and poor with no access to education or even the most basic of services.

They should execute those people because in the end just like in America they will end up having more rights than a natural woman or a man. An example is that if you assault a natural man you could get a fine or probation but if you assault a gay man it is considered a hate crime and you will get 10 years in prison. The same applies to a woman as well which is even worse because a gay man is more protected than she is (natural woman ). Now ask yourself being as though he was born as a man how is it he has more value than a natural woman, what part of the game is that? It's not a human right it is a European agenda being pushed under a right because it's apart of their culture. In America it is disgusting and sad to see how they are influencing the black children who are constantly under attack on so many levels by gays. You don't want that for you country because it is a form of population control.

personally ,I applaud those countries on the continent of Africa for standing firm against homosexuality. In time , the Western world will realize the error of their way.until then Africans must dig in for pro gay activists are many and they are wealthy . African governments must be alert to infiltration by gay politicians.And I am in agreement with government involvement in the matter of men publicly showing affection for one another.its a matter of decency but more importantly sexual behavior of the sort is harmful to the development of a child and one must remember that the children of today constitute tomorrows leaders.so,for that reason governments of Africa must protect the children as well as promote and encourage a home environment to ensure the proper rite of passage in adulthood for the children of the country.
