GSN is proud to be back with a brand new site

GSN is back with a brand new site – but the same mission to serve the global LGBT+ community.

Over the last few months, we’ve listened carefully to what people love about GSN and what needs to change. So we’ve reinvented the brand to build on our strengths and make us fit for the years to come.

Call us GSN

You’ll notice some changes straight away.

Firstly, we’ve changed our name from Gay Star News to GSN.

We are proud of our history and our original name helped people around the world find us online.

But from day one we’ve been a site for all LGBT+ people and our many friends and allies. In fact, we are probably the most diverse brand in LGBT+ media. And by making this switch, we are making that clearer.

Our new logo symbolizes that GSN is a place where our community comes together. It’s fluid design reflects the changing ways LGBT+ people identify. And the connecting letters signify the connections we will be building between people around the world.

Embracing our mission: Truth and Unity

We are immensely proud of what GSN has achieved in the last eight years. We’ve changed and even saved lives.

But the last few months have been a time to reflect on our mission for the future.

We never forget our LGBT+ readers who face persecution and even murder. And we want them to be free to be themselves, to love and to achieve their dreams.

But often it feels like our community prefers to fight each other than to show solidarity to those who truly need it.

We believe when we stand united, we can achieve anything. History has proved that time and again.

And history has also taught us the best way to win our freedom is to simply tell the truth. When we tell the truth about our LGBT+ lives and experiences, the arguments by homophobes, transphobes and biphobes crumble – because those arguments are always based on lies.

Right now, truth is under threat everywhere. So the most important contribution GSN can make is to continue to bring you the truth from around the world. Truth gives us all power to make change.

Our fully redesigned site

We hope you enjoy the new GSN site.

We’ve worked hard to make it faster to load and easier to read, with bigger photos. It’s the biggest and most radical redesign we’ve done in our history.

But the one thing we haven’t changed is our commitment to quality content. In the coming months, we will be showcasing even more of the content you love.

Our formal launch will be coming very soon. Meanwhile, we are proud to share our ‘soft’ beta launch. We’ll be continuing to make improvements and look forward to sharing them with you.

Thank you

GSN would not exist without you. Thanks to you, we get to do the job we love and to serve the community we love.

So thank you for everything and we can’t wait to show you what we have planned for 2020 and beyond.

Team GSN
