Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) slammed President Trump on Sunday after he branded her and some of her party’s most prominent figures as “Do Nothing Democrats.”

“Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, AOC and the rest of the Democrats are not getting important legislation done, hence, the Do Nothing Democrats,” Trump tweeted earlier on Sunday morning.

“USMCA, National Defense Authorization Act, Gun Safety, Prescription Drug Prices, & Infrastructure are dead in the water because of the Dems!” he continued.

“Polls have now turned very strongly against Impeachment, especially in swing states. 75% to 25%. Thank you!” he said in a follow-up tweet several hours later.

Ocasio-Cortez responded in a tweet hours later by noting she “cosponsored 339 pieces of legislation” in her first 11 months in office while he was busy jailing children.

“In my first 11 months I’ve cosponsored 339 pieces of legislation, authored 15, took on Big Pharma w/ my colleagues in hearings that brought PreP generic a year early & exposed abuse of power,” the freshman Democrat tweeted on Sunday afternoon.

“In 4 years, you’ve jailed kids & made corruption the cause celebré. Try to keep up,” she added.

Earlier this year, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez confronted Daniel O’Day, the CEO of the drug company Gilead, over the high cost of an HIV-prevention drug.

The lawmaker asked why the drug Truvada for PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), which can help reduce the risk of contracting HIV via sex, cost nearly $2,000 per month in the United States, versus $8 in Australia.

O’Day said that the current monthly list price ($1,780) is a product of the drug’s “patent protection” in the US, while a generic version of the drug is sold in other countries.

Ocasio-Cortez slammed the cost of the drug in the US, stating the “people are dying” because it’s not affordable enough.
