President Trump on Friday was mocked online after claiming at a White House daily press briefing that he’s “not sure anybody even knows what it is,” referring to the COVID-19 virus.
Trump told reporters that children have been largely spared “to a much lesser extent, by this disease. This, um, whatever they want to call it. You can call it a germ. You can call it a flu. You can call it a virus.”
“You know you can call it many different names,” he added. “I’m not sure anybody even knows what it is.”

Walter Shaub, the former director of the Office of Government Ethics, quoted Trump’s remark, adding: “Words spoken on Earth by Donald Trump on March 27, 2020.”
