President Trump ripped into former Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, during a Thursday campaign rally in Minnesota, alleging that Biden’s legacy as vice president is viewed favorably because he “understood how to kiss Barack Obama’s ass.”
“And your father was never considered smart,” Trump said of Joe Biden.
“He was never considered a good senator. He was only a good vice president because he understood how to kiss Barack Obama’s ass,” Trump said to loud cheers and scattered boos from the crowd.

Trump also lashed out at Democrats, painting them as a “desperate” party on “a crusade to destroy our democracy.”
“We will never let that happen,” Trump told the arena crowd as they loudly booed. “We will defeat them.”

Trump called the House’s impeachment inquiry – which was launched last month after reports of Trump’s July phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, during which he asked Zelenskiy to “look into” the former vice president Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden – a “brazen attempt to overthrow our government will produce a backlash at the ballot box, the likes of which they have never, ever seen before in the history of this country.”
“These are bad people,” Trump told his supporters minutes after suggesting he is leading his Democratic rivals in the polls, even though a several recent surveys show him trailing the five leading Democrats.
