White House “spiritual adviser” and head of the government’s “Faith and Opportunity Initiative” program Paula White came out against same-sex marriage while delivering a sermon last week.
“It’s not okay even if it’s culturally acceptable,” White tells her congregation. “It’s not okay to be addicted to pornography. It’s not okay to shack up. I’m starting easy before I get heavier. It’s not okay to be a racist. It’s not okay to be lawless. I’m gonna hit both because it’s not one or the other.”
She continues: “It’s not okay — you want me to just keep on going? Or should I just leave it there and let you fill in the blanks? It’s fine that we minister to everyone — It’s not okay to have an abortion. It’s not okay to marry the same sex.”
“I knew that one was gonna be the one, right?” she added.

Despite her opposition to marriage equality, White herself has been divorced twice.
A 2019 Pew Research Center found that a majority of Americans (61%) support same-sex marriage, while 31% oppose it. In 2004, Americans opposed same-sex marriage by a margin of 60% to 31%.
