I saw religion and some name-calling come into play, it put your position in perspective. Back to the subject though I see marriage as a civil institution with religious overtones that really have no place there. Gay people want the legal benefits that hetero couples get- the ability to reproduce is a non-factor.

Lgbt rights are better perceived as a subsection of civil rights. Discriminating against somebody because of their genetic heritage, skin colour, is immoral. But some behaviour is sinful, as seen from the perspective of the law of moses (see judaism), such as the eating of pork. But eating pork is not a criminal offense. Nor should consensual sexual activity between adults be made a criminal offense, else would they begin to stone persons for eating bacon. Many who are called "black" desire not to commit acts which are considered "worthy of death" from a jewish perspective. And so it is very offensive to "non-whites" to be associated with lgbt culture.
