A Gay Trump supporter and right-wing provocateur sparked backlash online Saturday when he declared: “I’m sorry, blacks, but you already have a month.”
“Juneteenth isn’t a thing,” Chadwick Moore continued. “Don’t colonize our month as well. thanks. Signed, the gays.”

Moore wasn’t done yet, he continued his one-man crusade against the black community for daring to celebrate Juneteenth, an annual holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, during pride month.
“You may have forgotten that this is Pride month,” he wrote in another tweet. “And that’s because another identity group hijacked the season—even though they already have a month. I’d like to be the first to say, #GayLivesMatter.”
“It’s come to my attention that I made a statement recently which many found deeply offensive and upsetting, so I would like to clarify my words from an earlier tweet: Juneteenth isn’t a thing, Blacks already have a history month and June has been stolen from the gays. Thank you,” he wrote in a subsequent tweet.

Some Twitter users noted his previous tweets defending a right-wing hate group known as the “Proud Boys.”
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center: “Their disavowals of bigotry are belied by their actions: rank-and-file Proud Boys and leaders regularly spout white nationalist memes and maintain affiliations with known extremists. They are known for anti-Muslim and misogynistic rhetoric. Proud Boys have appeared alongside other hate groups at extremist gatherings like the ‘Unite the Right’ rally in Charlottesville. Indeed, former Proud Boys member Jason Kessler helped to organize the event, which brought together Klansmen, antisemites, Southern racists, and militias. Kessler was only ‘expelled’ from the group after the violence and near-universal condemnation of the Charlottesville rally-goers.”
if you’re just coming across Chadwick Moore from this tweet, just remember that he’s been defending hate groups like the Proud Boys for years, he’s not an edgy Pride fan, just a regular bigot pic.twitter.com/i4jO0XFncG

I would like to let everyone know, primarily black people, that this man does not speak for “the gays”. I love you. Juneteenth is a “thing”. And I intend to live an anti racist life and celebrate with you every year and teach my children the history of Juneteenth. https://t.co/6Gg4a08OeB
