Kanye West goes from standing against “fornicating” to urinating on a Grammy Award

In the same day that it’s revealed that Kanye West has directed anyone working on his campaign to avoid “fornicating,” the music artist and presidential candidate also posted a video of himself urinating on one his Grammy Awards to Twitter.

In a New York Times profile of him and his campaign released today, West and those “aiding his candidacy” spoke with reporters Danny Hakim and Maggie Haberman over the last month, explaining that the candidate does not want his staff having sex with people they aren’t married to. West’s campaign is staffed and assisted by many Republicans, and he mingles often with anti-LGBTQ advocates.

Throughout the article, West seems fully aware that his chances for election are slim this year. Still, he believes he will be elected president “eventually,” and has described himself as “walking”, not running, for the seat in the White House.

Less than six hours later, West – who has revealed before that he has bipolar disorder – tweeted a video captioned “Trust me… I WON’T STOP,” with apparently one of his 21 Grammys in a toilet bowl, being urinated on.

Described as a “Christian revivalist,” West has not laid out any concrete policy and has all but admitted in previous interviews that he hopes to stifle Democratic candidate Joe Biden’s chances for election.

“The reason why I eventually will make a great president is because I’m sensitive,” West said. “I hurt for the country, I hurt not just Black people, but all people of America. And I hurt for all people of the world.”

After the release of that article, West took to Twitter, posting several images of his record contracts and making assertions that record labels won’t allow him his “freedom” and demanding that they call him.

Then, in a video that has already been viewed over six million times on the social network alone, West made clear his disdain for the music industry.

Other highlights of West’s Twitter in the last two days include claiming that the media is “trying to kill” Black artists, bringing up documentaries on Michael Jackson and R. Kelly as attempts “by white media” to “take [Black artists] down.”

He then compared the music industry and the NBA to slavery and called himself the “new Moses,” begging for retweets from Paul McCartney and Bono, among others. He also shared an image of Vladimir Putin in a judo match over the words “Rule Number One – Listen to Ye.”

West announced his intent to run for president as an independent on July 4, weeks after most states had finalized their ballots for this election cycle. While he won’t appear on ballots in at least 30 states (including his home state of Illinois, and his campaign’s home state of Wyoming), he does have access to ballots in at least six and can be voted for via write-ins in several other areas. He is running under the self-created “Birthday Party.”

West’s campaign comes following years of open, enthusiastic support for Donald Trump. Like Trump, West relies on Twitter to get his message out to over 30 million followers. Just yesterday, he tweeted his support for Trump’s son-in-law and adviser, Jared Kushner, claiming the latter has bought peace to the Middle East.

Over weeks of correspondence via sporadic texts and phone calls, West told the Times reporters that while he is opposed to abortion, he wouldn’t try to “ban or stop or point fingers at anything” over abortion access, because “you can’t do that.” He expressed hopes to create “stipends” for families in need, “high-level desirable” orphanages, and “redesigns” of cities to be family-friendly.

This comes weeks after he revealed during a campaign event that his wife, Kim Kardashian West, had considered getting abortion when pregnant with the couple’s first child, North. He has also reportedly claimed that he tried to divorce her “for years” and that his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, is a “white supremacist.”
