A star continues to shine.

Lady Gaga has landed her first film role following her performance opposite Bradley Cooper in A Star Is Born, which earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination and a Best Original Song Oscar win for co-writing the breakout soundtrack hit “Shallow.”

Ridley Scott (Thelma & Louise, Gladiator, The Martian) will direct the untitled film about the Gucci family fashion dynasty and the murder of label founder Guccio Gucci’s grandson, Deadline reports.

Gaga is attached to star as Patrizia Reggiani, ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, who left her for another woman. Reggiani was convicted of plotting her ex-husband’s assassination on his Milan office steps in 1995. She served 18 years of her 29-year jail sentence before her 2016 release.

Reggiani had been diagnosed with a brain tumor, which her two daughters blamed for her part in their father’s shooting death, but the media still portrayed her as a jealous “Black Widow.”

Roberto Bentivegna wrote the film’s script based on Sara Gay Forden’s 2000 book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.

Scott, who most recently directed All The Money in the World and Alien: Covenant, plans to direct the Gucci film after he helms The Last Duel, which stars Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer, and Ben Affleck.

He will produce the Gucci drama with his wife, Giannina Scott, and Scott Free Productions. They will first shop the project to Fox/Disney.
