Washington D.C. student Noah Mitchell ambushed Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) at the Capitol this week, asking if they enjoyed their most controversial vacations.
Mitchell, a political science student living in D.C., pretended to take a selfie with Cawthorn on Thursday, quickly asking him, “What was it like visiting Hitler’s house?”
“What was that?” Cawthorn asked.
“What was it -Did you go to Hitler’s house?” Mitchell asked again.
“Nope, didn’t go there,” Cawthorn said while patting Mitchell’s shoulder before quickly taking off in his wheelchair.
“Alright, what was that Instagram post then?” Mitchell fired back.
“That I believe was a retreat,” Madison said as he fled the scene.
“The retreat? Okay,” Mitchell responded.
Mitchell later posted Cawthorn’s posts from the Eagle’s Nest, writing, “We have receipts @CawthornforNC. ‘Bucket list,’ really?”

Cawthorn’s own Instagram post referred to the home as “the vacation house of the Führer,” and called his visit to “the Eagles Nest a trip that has been on my bucket list for a while, it did not disappoint.”
Mitchell also pretended to take a selfie with Cruz before asking him, “How was Cancún, Senator? It was good?”
Realizing that this was not just a fan trying to take a friendly picture, Cruz’s smile quickly melted away as he took off.
“Take care,” Cruz shot back as he walked away. “You didn’t enjoy it? No?” Mitchell replied.
I’m actually curious about whether he enjoyed it. Like was it fun for the first half? Or was it stressful cuz he knew someone would recognize him?
