Pat Robertson prophesies (again) that God will destroy America if LGBTQ people get any (more) rights

Televangelist Pat Robertson is famous for his hellfire and brimstone brand of religion – and his outrageously stupid claims about LGBTQ people that normally involve blaming the community as the cause of a natural disaster.

The minister is particularly notorious for claiming God will destroy the world over [insert the blank]. The reason may change, but the result is always the same. Total destruction.

On a recent show, Robertson continued the theme, telling his viewers that if the Equality Act passes, “a righteous God will do to us what he did to Sodom and Gomorrah.”

Earlier this year, Robertson blamed the coronavirus on same-sex marriage. Last May, he claimed there will be ‘atomic war’ if Christians can’t discriminate against LGBTQ people.

“We don’t want that,” he said. “We want the blessing of God, not the curse of God.”
