President Trump rented a small ballroom in Atlanta on Friday to kick off a new campaign effort called “Black Voices for Trump,” where he addressed several hundred of his most loyal African-American supporters.

“It did not go unnoticed on social media that at least a couple of the people wearing ‘Blacks for Trump’ were actually white,” the New York Times reported.

Isaac Hayes III, son of the late soul singer and South Park voice actor Isaac Hayes, tweeted a photo showing two white attendees at the rally wearing the “Blacks for Trump” t-shirts.

“Oh this ‘Blacks For #Trump’ rally in #Atlanta is already off to a comedic start!” Hayes tweeted alongside the photo.

“Reporting live from the Georgia World Congress Center where the ‘Black Voices For Trump’ rally is set to get underway…” tweeted New Yorker staff writer Charles Bethea.

Bishop Talbert Swan joked: “They must be wearing whiteface at the #BlacksForTrump rally in Atlanta.”

Hayes also noted that most of the rally attendees arrived in vans that traveled with Trump’s motorcade to the event.

“These are all the African Americans #Trump could manage to fit in this small room in #Atlanta. He came with most of them in vans in his motorcade. Some white, paid and fed used to exploit the appearance of ‘Blacks For Trump’. The rest were media. ‘Fake Event.’ ”

A recent Quinnipiac poll showed that Trump is deeply unpopular with black voters.

Only 10% of black voters approved of Trump’s job performance, with 88% disapproving, the poll found.

Eighty-five percent said they disapproved strongly of the president, and 82% said they believed Trump should be impeached and removed from office.
