QAnon Lawmaker Calls LGBTQ Equality Act ‘Disgusting,’ Says It’ll Hurt Women, Christians & Fetuses

Far-right conspiracy theorist Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is declaring war on the Equality Act, calling the effort to defend LGBTQ rights “evil” and an attack on people of faith.

If signed into law, The Equality Act would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to protect LGBTQ people from discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations, public education, federal funding, credit, and other areas.

The Georgia Republican took to Twitter today to say the act would force Christians to approve abortions and would treat transgender people the same as those born as a boy or a girl.

She also asserted it uses protecting gay rights as a smokescreen to prevent religious people from living according to their beliefs.

“It has everything to do with attacking God & believers,” Greene said.

Greene called the act “disgusting” and asserted it attacks women’s rights, without elaborating.

“Men who dress and think they are women will have rights over all real girls and women,” Greene said. She then bizarrely said that the bill that bans LGBTQ discrimination “has nothing to do with stopping discrimination against the LGBT community, that could be done easily without this.”

“I WILL BE VOTING NO TO THE DISGUSTING, IMMORAL, AND EVIL #EqualityAct!!!” the elected member of Congress wrote.

A vote in the House of Representatives is expected by the end of the week.

Greene was recently ousted from her committee assignments over her past support for political violence against liberal Democrats and claims that school shootings were staged hoaxes.
