God has created everything in pairs each endowed with physical and psychological characteristics to complement and complete one another. This ruling invented a new Federal Constitutional right that never existed and knocked down voters and states rights to decide on very important issue. The way elites has mastered and forced things on people is to go to courts where hack judges insert their policy preferences on the nation under the facade of judicial review. Race, age, nationality and religion doesn't change the meaning and the purpose of marriage. It's a fallacy to keep mentioning the Loving SCOUTS ruling. Also the equal protection clause protect negative rights not positive rights (which requires other people to do something).

Certainly a giant step forward for society. At the end of the day, under modern American law, really no argument in defence of a ssm ban, could stand. In my opinion, as a law student, the court should have rather than depending on the route of the 14th amendment, and Due process arguments – which btw no sayers, is a bona fide defence- they should have just tried the case under heighted scrutiny, and the bans would obviously not be aiding a government interest. Honestly, those of you who say its not the courts responsibility, how dare you!
