8. I find it interesting hearing someone else’s life experiences of my own generation from a different country. I will admit I don’t know all that much about Scotland but when we pool all of our experiences together we can see how we all can relate to one another around the world. I grew up in small town USA and so much of this story was the same. Stereotypical 1950s gender roles were the norm and anything outside that frame of mind was not perceived well. Toxic masculinity still prevails in that town to this day. Hopefully as generations change so can hearts and minds.
