One bisexual Californian has gone viral for his incredible Pride Month look.

Jiwandeep Kohli, a neuroscientist and amateur baker who lives in San Diego, shared a photo to Twitter of his fabulous rainbow-hued turban on the first day of June.

“I’m proud to be a bisexual bearded baking brain scientist,” he tweeted. “I feel fortunate to be able to express all these aspects of my identity, and will continue to work toward ensuring the same freedom for others.”

Since June 1, Kohli’s tweet has garnered more than 3,000 retweets and 21,000 likes. After receiving a plethora of compliments and questions from fellow queer people, Kohli clarified that he made the turban himself. “Took about an hour of tying, untying, and safety pinning, but totally worth it!” he tweeted.

Both Sikh and Muslim men often wear turbans, though Kohli’s unabashedly queer attire is truly one of a kind.

Kohli later added that he was surprised by the attention he’s received. “It also makes me feel so much #Pride and joy to be a part of such supportive and welcoming communities,” he wrote, linking to a Twitter thread of other LGBTQ people he admires who work in science and mathematics fields.
