  1. GREAT ! This is history…..American History ! The Stonewall Rebellion took place on a hot Summer night in June of 1969. The 1960's was a decade defined by rebellion, revolution, protest and change. Gay men and women were truly the last " invisible " minority that had no voice….until that night ! The oppression, discrimination and mass paranoia towards homosexuals was ripe and everywhere in society back then. If a group lives in fear, remains invisible and actually they themselves believe all the negative and false information about them….how can they feel any pride and demand visibility and equality ? That was about to change…forever ! The following year in 1970, these very gays organized the first gay rights parade march and from then on it has only grown and their plight made visible to the rest of us and how unfairly and horribly they were treated. The LGBT civil rights movement slowly organized and grew to become a formidable political machine to win basic civil rights.Today, we see gays are no different from their straight counterparts. They go to work, pay taxes, care for their families, have jobs and are valued and respectable members of the community….and literally everywhere ! That simple fact was not known way back then and the concept of "consenting-adults" non-existent. Stonewall made it possible…and we owe those pioneers that fought back on that sultry night our very lives as OUT LOUD & PROUD gay citizens and Marriage-Equality in America in 2015….slowly, but surely, coming to all "50" states soon !

  2. People with mental health issues are the last, invisible, deeply stigmatized group, and they're about where gay people were in 1970. No one speaks for them and no one listens to whack jobs and nut cases.

  3. We are never going back to the days of persecution and hiding. Anyone who thinks they can somehow stamp out gayness needs to check into a psych facility.
