Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts made the festival rounds earlier this year, and the award-winning documentary was released earlier this month on digital and VOD.

Fans have been wondering where they can hear the acoustic versions of the Trixie tracks heard in the movie, and now the Drag Race legend has announced that a soundtrack is on its way.

The acoustic six-song album Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts consists of all one-takes with just guitar and vocals. Selections include new versions of Trixie originals like “Moving Parts” and “Heavy Crown,” as well as covers of Dolly Parton’s “Backwoods Barbie” and the Carter Family’s “Keep on the Sunny Side.” The soundtrack will be released digitally on Friday, December 20.

The film, directed by Nick Zeig-Owens, follows Trixie (real name Brian Firkus) over a year of her life as she experiences the highest highs and lowest lows of being one of the most popular drag queens on the planet.

“I think that this film does a really good job of showing that on the flip side of a coin, drag can be so fierce. And so many moments last year we were like, ’Oh my God, I can’t believe this happening,’” the RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars winner told NewNowNext earlier this year. “And so many parts of last year were also like, ’Oh, this is the worst day of my life, and there’s no handbook to handle it.’”

1. “Moving Parts”
2. “Backwoods Barbie”
3. “Heavy Crown”
4. “Hello, Goodbye, Hello”
5. “Keep on the Sunny Side”
6. “Kitty Girl”

I write about drag queens. Dolly Parton once ruffled my hair and said I was “just the cutest thing ever.”
