Donald Trump called into Fox & Friends this morning and the topic quickly turned into the political battle over Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s vacant seat.

After the Notorious RBG’s death, her granddaughter related the judicial icon’s dying wish from shortly before her death: “My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”

But Trump took the opportunity to call Ginsburg’s granddaughter a liar on live television, claiming the declaration was a hoax by Democrats dreamed up by his political enemies.

“I don’t know that she said that, or was that written out by [Rep.] Adam Schiff, and [Sen. Chuck] Schumer and [Speaker Nancy] Pelosi,” Trump told host Ainsley Earhart. “I would be more inclined to the second, okay?”

“That sounds like a Schumer deal or maybe a Pelosi or shifty Schiff. So that came out of the wind. I mean, maybe she did and maybe she didn’t.”

Trump had a rocky relationship with Ginsburg; the fiery judge held Trump in disdain for his loutish behavior.

The White House started reaching out to far-right organizations last year for suggestions on a possible conservative replacement for Ginsburg, who had battled cancer multiple times before dying last week.

Ginsburg was the first Supreme Court justice to officiate a same-sex wedding.
