16 Comments on “Corruption Behind Big Corporate Merger”

  1. Anyone remember the promises made by the cable television industry in the
beginning when they said that there would be no commercials and better
    quality programming?
One only has to look at The “History” Channel to see what a lie the
    American television consumer was told.

  2. What happened to Sherman Anti-Trust? No corporation is allowed to have >50%
of any national market! The Federal Judiciary should be purged NOW! If the
Congress allows this, they should be disempanelled! As for Soetoro, Impeach
    that demonic shine NOW!

  3. What happened to the Sherman anti-trust act? Does anybody remember that?

  4. I always shake my head at the fact that politicians are allowed to take
money from the people they’re supposed to regulate. It’s a clear conflict
of interest. Not only that but in this case it’s more than clear that
Comcast is trying to monopolize this particular market. It’s a no brainer..
You don’t allow them to buy twc.

  5. I feel like a fucking broken record, but I’ll say it again: Gangsters.
    Fucking gangsters.

  6. It is a legal monopoly since each cable provider has to do all of its own
wiring which is very expensive for new companies. Anti-trust laws don’t
apply when there is no other competitor that can have the same start-up
capital to build the necessary infrastructure to compete.

Also, the FCC doesn’t regulate cable the same way it does telephones
(internet and television are deemed “information services” and phones are
“common carriers,” which is to roughly say that phones are essential for
households and tv and Internet isn’t). Further, since there is a move from
copper wiring to fiber optics (fiber optic wiring is faster, cheaper, and
can handle more customers), they can bundle tv, phone, and internet service
into one network of wires and all three will get labeled as “information
    services.”

And this is just the tip of the iceberg of the politics of net neutrality,
of which I know quite a bit.

  7. Did all the corporations watch all those movies where they take over the
world and enslave everyone else and say hey let’s do this for real

  8. IF THIS HAPPENS, THEN THE MEDIA WILL DEFINITELY BE A HUGE CORPORATE ENTITY.

THIS IS WHY I WATCH Secular Talk, TYT, VICE, AND ETC.

  9. If it is illegal, can’t the supreme court knock this deal on it’s head?
