I do not think that the Olympics is THE place to voice your protest against
ANYTHING. It’s supposed to be about THE Athlete and about them representing
their country. (National Pride)…
It’s supposed to be about the fun of competing and going for the Gold.
Protests would only take away from what the Olympics actually stand for and
hurt the athlete as an unnecessary distraction.
I so felt sorry for the athletes that were not allowed to attend the 1980
Olympics in Moscow. Many trained hard just to get there…and the
Government telling them, they were not allowed to compete…was a slap in
their faces. Politics and all other differences, should be set aside during
the Olympics.
