  4. Osborne comeback was: a) Nonsensical; it was just a bit cringey to be
    honest. I mean, could you think of nothing else to say? b) Not really that
    funny either. It’s not that it isn’t funny because he made a “gay joke”.
    It’s not funny because George Osborne appears have to absolutely no comedic
    talent, timing, or wit.

  12. I agree. This was all said “off the cuff” without any forewarning or
    planning. Although not everyone will agree, this is one of the reasons why
    the British Parliament is without equal in the world, and is indeed by the
    ‘Mother of Parliaments’, It is sometimes messy, grissly, gritty and mucky,
    but there isn’t anything else like it in the world.

    . While pantomime dame is used for the Gay MP as it’s a drag queen
    reference. One is a Micky take on a position in government while the other

    polite. He even asked the Chancellor to play Prince Charming which was
    surely a compliment ?

    public school boy educated during puberty in a Tom Browns schooldays

  30. There’s no such a thing as ‘the right to be gay’ or ‘the right to be
    straight’. Stop seeing rights everywhere! Being straight is the norm, being
    gay is not but is tolerated. What is tolerated is a privilege and can be
    very temporary. I’ve no problem with you having the sexuality that you
    wish, but if you openly display orientations outside the norm, then I can
    criticize/mock/discuss these orientations – same for
    political/philosophical/alimentary orientations. Sod the protection!

    debate, where slurs and back-stabbing have been the diet of this Chamber
