Loosing the right to vote is wrong on the basis of the ‘principle of
proportionality’ and respect of dignity IMO. Prisoners are citizens with
interests in future forms of their societies. To rob them of the right to
vote is to prejudice the path society takes.
Unfortunately, at around 32:00 when the QC says nearly everybody thinks
torture is wrong, I thought he was deluded, my case was strengthened by the
following audience response.
