  1. I’m all for gay rights and equality, but what’s the point here?

It’s all set-up and no punchline. 2 people talk while their husbands get
them drinks. Couldn’t Amazon have come up with a more interesting premise
    for their ad?

  2. Moral of the story: All you need is a kindle and a husband that gets you
drinks. Now where do you get the latter?

  3. Most people here seem to have missed the subtle subtext which makes the
commercial amusing. And that is that the husbands are enjoying each others
company so much they all but forgot to bring their partners their drinks.
An that, Greg Lewis, is the point and punchline.

  4. Oh hi husbands gonna stand there and drink and chat while we dye of
dehydration over here…..what are husbands good for anymore.

  5. I like this ad but it still saddens me that what would have otherwise been
such a boring ad is made so much more interesting by someone sexuality. Its
annoying that that shock factor still exists but still, well done amazon.

  6. ..i would buy it, that is if i could afford one. but i can’t. You see, now
that “everything” is fina and “dendy” so to speak, there should be
healthcare ads for all those “years of exclusion headaches” that would
sell. just kidding, no i’m not, yes i am. there, marketeers, market that!

  7. I love this ad when I saw it on TV. I am a 49 year old gay man who never
thought I would see the day a classy and yet funny TV for a huge company
like Amazon would have a positive image of a gay couple in their TV ads. It
really made my day. Thank you Amazon. Oh and it worked, I went out and
    brought a kindle!

  8. i love it! it’s annoying like most commercials, informative and i am
curious about what they are reading, i would buy it.

  9. You can swear at people all you want, but don’t reinforce stereotypes or be
a bigot yourself. Your no better than them. My mother is from the south, I
was raised there, and there are plenty of wonderful accepting people. It’s
why I didn’t have trouble coming out.

  10. We don’t think it’s a mental disorder because it isn’t a mental disorder.
Then again, I’m sure that as a heterosexual bigot, you know better than the
major medical, psychological, and sociological organizations in the first
world that have declared homosexual a normal and unchangeable sexual
orientation. You’re just making yourself look bad, buddy boy. When we fags
start to care what you think, we’ll be sure and let you know, but thanks
    for playing, cupcake!

  11. Black people were killed and denied civil rights – so were gay people/bi
people/trans people. Often they were forced out of communities or
imprisoned because of that – so are/were gay people. They’re effectively
the same thing – denying rights through arbitrary justification.

  12. I’m willing to bet nobody in this commercial is gay. But hey, enjoy being
pandered to I guess. Go buy yourself that lgbt friendly Kindle now, because
    you owe it to Amazon.
