  5. My boyfriend came to Canada in 2000 when he was 15 – he didn’t know that
    such a thing as being GAY could ever be accepted anywhere in the world! It
    is an undeniable fact that most countries in the world have either
    homophobia prevalent in their cultures or even built into their laws. Given
    that Canada is in the small minority of countries that treat gays as equal
    citizens, newcomers need to know that gay people are equal citizens in
    CANADA.
