13 Comments on “Why Christians can believe in Gay Rights”

  1. Those who quote Leviticus against gays don’t realize they ignore the entire
rest of that book. They don’t even know that there are 67 abominations and
they ignore 66 of them while misusing 1. This is selective cruelty. If we
truly followed every verse to live by today we would still have legal
slavery, you could sell your own daughter into slavery (Ex 21:7), we would
stone adulterers and non-virgin brides on their wedding night (Deut 22)
which also says a rape victim must marry her rapist. Women would be the
property of their husbands. A man could have as many wives and concubines
(sex slaves) as he could afford. He could legally beat his wife and kids.
And in cases of divorce, the children would be the property of the man,
with the ex-wife having zero rights.

  2. There are many Christians who have unwanted same-sex attractions and try to
live as holy a life as possible. They encourage celibacy and holiness at
the Gay Christian Network, an open online group.

  3. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women
turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with
each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with
women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other
men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the
    penalty they deserved.

  4. ‘These rules dont apply anymore’ How can you pick and choose what you want
to take from the bible. By the way there is no God, go watch some Richard
    Dawkins videos.

  5. woe to him who calls good evil and evil good. by the way, new studies has
proven why you shouldnt eat shrimp.

  6. Literally just sat here like a nodding dog agreeing with everything you
just said. Thank you for making this. <3

  7. A great video. Well thought through and structured opinion here! I don’t
understand why some Christians put homosexuality as one of the big taboos –
yes there are issues around sex being for marriage and marriage being for a
man and a woman, but what gives Christians the right to judge and beat down
on others? We’re all guilty of wrong doing and whether or not homosexuality
is wrong we’re meant to forgive others as God has forgiven us. Thanks for
    sharing this Katie!

  8. Thank you soo much for making this video! Everything you said makes sense!
I wish more Christians thought like this or would at least listen to and
consider the things you said. Too many people are caught up in judgements
and hate! They completely ignore the fact that the second greatest
    commandment is love your neighbor!

  9. Good video 🙂 i’m Chirstian and i beleve people can be individuals and
separartion of church/state. Does God love gays? Yes of course he does.
Does God “approve” of their behavior? Some churches say the “behavior” is a
sin. But He is also love. I feel God wants marriage between men/women. BUT
He doesn’t approve a lot of things “straight” people do either. We all have
to rely on His mercy. Of course there is chastity also.

  10. 9 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of
God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship
idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice
homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are
abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

  11. Good video 🙂 i’m Chirstian and i beleve people can be individuals and
separartion of church/state. Does God love gays? Yes of course he does.
Does God “approve” of their behavior? not really BUT he “prefers” marriage
between men/women. The word “prefers” is the key i think. He doesn’t
approve a lot of things “straight” people do either. We all have to rely on
    His mercy.

  12. I believe that there are more admonishments against straight sex in the
Bible than gay sex. But this isn’t a religious issue. It’s a human rights
issue. It’s that simple. Either you consider gay people equal to straight
people or you do not. And if you do not, I don’t really want to be around
you. People cheery pick what they want from holy books to support their
personal prejudices. Nothing new here. Which is sad.
