ILLEGAL STREET ART??

“For me, it is many faces of oneself the quest is the truth behind the image.”

Ghizlan El Glaoui

hey what’s up everyone and welcome to my second channel and episode 2 of The Art Institute blogs
who is excited I’m excited are you excited cuz I am basically for episode 2 we actually got to meet our first mentor
so we should get right into that our first artist is Ric Rodriguez really hard came to say I’m glad he goes by
ridiculous has a ridiculous name Ric and I can tell you all about this guy but who better to tell you about him than
himself so I’m gonna hand it over to Rick
My name is Rick I go Bernard his name ridiculous and I’m actually a producer but I also work as an artist
Rick is a street artist in LA who specializes in mixed-media this was the first time that me and my team were
meeting and an artist so it was very I was nervous I was nervous cuz I essentially had to like lead the
interview and I had to make the session go well but Rick was really really nice and he was really talking of and really
passionate so it was really easy so first of course I had to get my car and go there this is like the most parts Eli
thing ever.
I’m just telling you this lighting is crazy god I gotta go I got a drive I’m late as per usual great here we go again why do people
give you flocking cameras
and once I got there I was reunited with my team once again walking on the street and they got parked
far away right here
up we’re here I’m here do a boyband pose quick and oh my god Los Angeles on this day was particularly
scorching it was so
hot so if we’re sweating and we look sweaty at all blame mother nature don’t blame me how’s everyone feeling
good we
walked into this very large red room and his paintings were hung everywhere and what’s really cool since he works with
mixed media is that everything was so unique there were paintings the Sara’s art with newspaper there was art with pastels
Sara’s art with like random object I don’t know it was very unique what he does and then after we had to look around to got all set
up we finally got
to meet Rick himself spray-paint also you would I really try to be actually true artists and not just be like
one-dimensional show me Melrose
downtown LA been you know couple different types of some every welcome to the show you
kind of explained to us who
he was what he did where his art goes.
Which fun fact I don’t remember if I got this on tape but Rick did a lot of illegal street graffiti it’s the place a lot of it on the street
whether it
wanted I know who could most wanted to express myself play in that way which i think is really interesting it’s
interesting to see how much he’s progressed is from doing just streak rafidhi to putting it on an actual canvas and it’s is selling
it to people
that’s inspiring today we had a big session of Rick just kind of explaining his art to us because senses are was so unique
and so
different and used so many different materials.
I really wanted to see how he made it especially but also why he made it and what inspired it and what it’s supposed to mean and he
hides a lot of meanings in his art which is also very cool very subjective I say cool I’m saying cool way too much whoo very cool
SuperDuper cool and then after that we got to take down all of his paintings from the wall which I was very nervous about I did
not want to break his
expensive art.
What’s going on with the hair right there I really didn’t want to break his expensive art but after we did that we had a big empty
wall and he
wanted us to put his art on that wall okay so now we are going to we’re gonna create our own gallery wall and then
we had made our own gallery
wall and then we have to examine it and admire it and just kind of look at it.
I love our art you just to look at it and then I got the chest pull everyone aside and ask them a couple questions like what did you
think of Rick it was so
freakin awesome that was superb honestly meeting him was such an inspiration it’s really passionate about
each piece that
he creates what did you think of his type of art and definitely like his style because it’s more like it’s not really all
the way abstract but there’s
like so many extra quality never seen aren’t an artist whose mixed-media so well like Hughes is like
paint and magazines and things that he prints on and types.
I got really loves using the texture and layering you know the streets of LA through his work he hides stuff in his work it’s
awesome because
that’s what I do in my life what are you gonna take away from this and bring to your final big art piece some way
that
he can be as emotional the fact that you can look at these are pieces that unique experience mixed-media is awesome and I
can use in that one experiment with it I want to be sure that whatever we created has a lot of meaning to us and it’s not
just for the sake of aesthetics the momentum by definitely included a more layering and any objects no more abstractness.
Wesley Marva Nathaniel and Tyler they all come from different areas and they all specialize in different things but they still kind
of took away very similar things and yeah that was it this is all leading up to the big livestream event called the uncontainable it’ll be
held in Austin Texas on October 16th and the whole day will be livestream so I’m glad we have to do this and get inspired for that
final event.
If you want to learn more about my team or our rivals or just see some behind the scenes content make sure to head on over to
AI uncontainable comm
links will be below we are seen west coast but the East Coast team is headed by Anna Akana
If you want to see her episode click the link down below but yes everyone that is it that was really fun and I’m really excited for
next week next week we’re meeting someone who does more of an interior type of art so they get ready for that gonna be fun
it’s gonna be great so make sure you subscribe to my second channel if you want to see that and if you enjoyed this give it a big
thumbs up it really helped I hope you guys are doing this cuz I really am that’s all I have for you guys this week so again if you

  1. this is sick. google The Art Institutes and look at their yelp reviews. They have been under investigation and they have had multiple whistle blower court cases for fraud and predatory recruiting and marketing since 2007. the only reason that these cases have gone unresolved is that they fear the verdict more than its existence.

They offer a terrible education for an insanely high price. They lie and do whatever it takes to get new students in the door. Students then have to either take out an astronomical amount of loans to finish, or else they don't finish, get no degree, but they are still on the hook for every dollar that they borrowed. Student loans have no bankruptcy option and once you have them they are there for life. They will wage garnish you to get their money as well as garnish your social security when you get old. The very fact that they are using Youtube celebrities to market to their demographic is disgusting, because they are still hiding the truth about their programs' legitimacy.

Go to https://collegescorecard.ed.gov/ to find the truth for yourself and make the best decision for your future.

  2. Hate AI and now hare Conner! Edmc and Ai are on the verge of collapse. You may want to get paid up front Conner. Hehehe AI is a "F" rated college. Google it!

  3. The Art institutes and it's parent company EDMC has been investigated by the FBI, SEC, DoJ, and 17 State Attorney Generals for predatory fraud, abuses, and misrepresentations made to students and the government at these schools. Look up "Education Management Corporation" on Wikipedia to find out the real story of what is going on with this predatory for-profit college.

  4. CONNOR!!! You are being USED. The federal government sued the Art Institutes for $11 Billion for fraud and misrepresentation. The Art Institutes ruin lives. Their parent company, EDMC, has had multiple lawsuits and investigations against them and they are USING you to raise their enrollment numbers so they can ruin more lives and keep people in debt to death. They are closing 15 campuses. In July the company laid off 300 employees and then just last week another 115 employees were fired. They are sitting at 7 cents for their stock (EDMC) and STILL enrolling students to take advantage of. They spend more tuition money on advertising than they do on education per student. Support art, support artists, boycott the Art Institutes and for-profit fraud colleges! Look into the Jason Sobek vs. EDMC case and the Kathleen Bittel whistleblower testimony. Look into the US vs EDMC, where over a dozen state Attorney Generals filed suit against them. http://petapixel.com/2011/09/02/us-gov-sues-the-art-institutes-for-11-billion-fraud/

  5. I have a question, are you aware of the Art Institute's lawsuit currently going on? You're working with a school that abused military grants, has illegally over charged students, provided sub par education for their schooling and the majority of the students wind up in a different field of study, default on their loans, and drop out before graduation due to the lack of education they are receiving. I think it's interesting the school is almost bankrupt but they are able to employ a Pro Youtuber? Is this what students loan money pays for? (Because that's where the Art Institute received all it's money) If you're unsure look up the EDMC lawsuit. They're being sued for 11 Billion by the government for their financial abuses. You have a large following and all this will do is incite interest into a school that could be LESS interested in their student body and more interested in lining their own pockets.

  6. Connor: So if were sweating and we look sweaty at all then blame mother nature
