Several deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s West Hollywood Station are under fire after they were seen posing for photos with a “Trump 2020” banner during an unofficial ‘Gays for Trump’ march in West Hollywood.
At least 5 on-duty deputies were seen in full uniform posing with one of the maskless marchers.
“Last night, during a Trump rally, I caught this moment… This doesn’t sit well with me,” wrote photographer and witness Chelsea Lauren. “I’ve been to numerous rallies on both sides at this point, and I have to say that the difference in treatment during fully peaceful protests is drastic – to say the least.”

Just a follow up… I pulled the ethics handbook. Surprise, surprise… It’s illegal. #LASD #BlueLivesMatter #BLM #sheriff pic.twitter.com/zNnKHZcUXn

The deputies’ actions sparked outrage from residents who stopped to question why on-duty officers were appearing to endorse a political party or candidate for president.

One observer claimed to overhear officers say that at least the attendees weren’t like “those BLM terrorists,” referring to Black Lives Matter protestors.
Here’s LASD gladly being chummy with the Gays For Trump March, which harassed and threatened bargoers and blocked traffic.

One conservative attendee claimed that before the protest, deputies “told us to get loud and proud and that they were proud of us.”
“I’ve been to numerous rallies on both sides at this point, and I have to say that the difference in treatment during fully peaceful protests is drastic – to say the least,” said Chelsea Lauren.
Shepi Shyne, a candidate for West Hollywood’s City Council, condemned the deputies’ actions as not being “in line with our values in West Hollywood.”
Participants of the small march, planned as “Gays and Housewives Take Over WeHo”, could be heard chanting “Gays For Trump” and “We love Trump.”
Reports indicate that somewhere between 40 to 70 people attended the event.
“No arrests were made, although the group interrupted those having dinner at a nearby restaurant and got into face-to-face arguments with patrons there,” reports LGBTQ Nation. “A car passing by began blaring ‘FDT’, an anti-Trump song by YG and Nipsey Hussle, much to attendee’s aggravation.”
