The Russian law is the same as Section 28″; the law introduced by the
Thatcher Government in the 1980s banning local authorities from promoting
homosexuality or from portraying homosexuality in a positive light. I
agree, the Russian Police should be heavy handed. In Qatar, homosexuality
is a crime punishable by up to five years in prison. In seventy other
countries homosexuality is banned. So why does Stephen fry demonize Russia?.
