Guess who’s in no mood to play.
One Million Moms, a boycott-crazy online conservative Christian group affiliated with the American Family Association, is now targeting Barbie retailer Mattel for breaking the mold with the world’s first gender-neutral doll.
In our world, dolls are as limitless as the kids who play with them. Introducing #CreatableWorld, a doll line designed to keep labels out and invite everyone in. #AllWelcome

“Toys are a reflection of culture, and as the world continues to celebrate the positive impact of inclusivity, we felt it was time to create a doll line free of labels,” says Mattel exec Kim Culmone of the iconic brand’s customizable Creatable World doll kits.
“Mattel has actually created a toy that glorifies gender inclusivity and ignores one’s biological sex,” argues a One Million Moms spokesperson in a statement. “Calling ’gender’ a label is the same as saying that being a male or female is no different than being tall or short.”
“Mattel is confusing our innocent children by attempting to destroy very definitive gender lines,” she continues. “Why can’t the toy manufacturer let kids be who God created them to be instead of glamorizing a sinful lifestyle?”
We let toys be toys, so kids can be kids. #AllWelcome

“Mattel is following a trend to desensitize America by telling children they can be whatever gender they want to be. This irresponsible line of toys is dangerous to the well-being of our children. Mattel should avoid aiming to please a small percentage of customers while pushing away conservative customers who hold to the age-old truth that a boy is a boy and a girl is a girl.”
A petition calling for the boycott of Mattel, urging the company “to acknowledge that there is a distinct difference between males and females,” has garnered more than 12,000 signatures.
One Million Moms has notably called for the boycotts of brands like Campbell’s Soup, American Girl magazine, and Zales, specifically for supporting same-sex couples. The group recently protested Mr. Ratburn’s gay wedding in the Arthur cartoon, attacked Pixar/Disney for showing lesbian moms in Toy Story 4, and slammed Whole Foods for sponsoring a Drag Queen Story Hour.

Russian politician Vitaly Milonov, author of the country’s infamous “gay propaganda” ban, has also proposed outlawing what he calls Mattel’s “freak dolls.”
The $30 Creatable World doll kits are sold at online retailers like Amazon, Target, and Walmart.
