By common statistics. on the super conservative side, there cannot be less than 65 million gay men in China (and at least as much Lesbians). 80% of that is 52 million. So the numbers of both gay Chinese men and tongqi are much higher. It is a real travesty that so many people are shunned and ostracized, and face a staggering amount of pressure and violence from their society and government. It really is a human rights tragedy.
