Tommy Ferris and his 81-year-old grandmother Nana Jean are spending the quarantine together. Ferris has been taking care his granny who has dementia.

Nana Jean doesn’t know there is a coronavirus pandemic raging, but Ferris has been posting videos of their time together as he keeps her safe. Now the videos are breaking the internet as the world watches the sweet duo.

“[Quarantine] certainly made me look inside more and made me realize I was not spending enough time with her,” Ferris told the BBC. “I was going out on a night out when I should have been with her. It’s allowed me to go back to basics and look at what matters.”

From dance parties to towing her wheelchair behind his lawnmower, Ferris’ videos are a lighthearted antidote during a time of global uncertainty. His grandmother’s innocence and joy shine through his antics.

One of the ways her love for him continues to shine through the fog of dementia comes when she asks him over dinner when he’s going to “make a woman happy” and he has to remind her that he’s gay.

After he reminds her, saying “We’re exactly the same as everyone else. Except we happen to fall in love with people who have the same thing in their pants as us,” the two share a laugh and, quarantine or not, life goes on.
