Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz, a loyal supporter of President Trump, led more than 30 Republican lawmakers to “crash” a closed-door impeachment inquiry hearing being conducted by the House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, and Oversight and Reform committees.

The Florida congressman and the group marched into the secure facility at the Capitol building known as a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) where House Democrats were scheduled to interview Pentagon official Laura Cooper, a witness in the probe.

After “crashing” the hearing on Wednesday, Gaetz told TMZ: “We were like the 300s, standing in the breach to try to stop the radical left from storming over our democracy.”

Asked if the president told him to crash the hearing, Gaetz replied, “No, I haven’t chatted with the president about it, though I suspect he might have a view he might want to share after today.”

“I love the president so much I may never love another president,” he added.
