Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King are trying to lock their position as America’s coolest middle-aged best friends, and they just might succeed.
The two amigas appeared in a video for O Magazine where they try to define slang terms, with some success.
Not that it matters to Oprah. “I don’t care if I don’t” know the words, the former queen of daytime talk says at the start of the video.
A few LGBTQ favorites appear, like “wig snatched,” “okurrrrr,” and “shade.” Wig snatched, which the video defines as “wonderful, beautiful” or a phrase “to express surprise,” really stumped them.

“And we have lots of gay friends, I’m surprised. I haven’t heard any of my gay friends use this phrase,” King says of the expression.
“I’ve never heard this from any gay person,” Oprah continues.
“Ever,” King says, because at this point Gayle and Oprah are so good at finishing each other’s sentences that they can just go back and forth like that.
