‘Please Stop And Let Me Finish My Question, Sir!’

A female voter participating in ABC News’ “The President and the People” Town Hall on Tuesday reprimanded President Donald Trump after he rudely interrupted her question about ObamaCare’s preexisting conditions mandate, which the GOP is currently suing to end before the U.S. Supreme Court.

“And should preexisting conditions — which ObamaCare brought into — brought to fruition be removed –.” the voter asked before Trump interjected.

“No,” Trump said.

“Please stop and let me finish my question, sir,” she fired back.

“Should that be removed, within a 36 to 72-hour period, without my medication, I will be dead,” she continued.

In response to her question, Trump falsely claimed that he was not “going to hurt anything having to do with pre-existing conditions. We are not gonna hurt pre-existing conditions.”

Trump then claimed that Democrats would eliminate pre-existing conditions.

The president also claimed that preexisting conditions would be part of a forthcoming GOP health care plan, at which point ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos stepped in to fact-check him.

“Mr. President, I have to stop you there,” Stephanopoulos said. “Obamacare guaranteed that people with preexisting conditions could buy insurance.”

“You fought to repeal Obamacare,” Stephanopoulos noted. “You are arguing before the Supreme Court right now to strike it down.”

Trump then claimed that he has a secret health care plan, but did not offer details.

“I have it all ready,” he claimed. “I have it all ready and it’s a much better plan for you and it’s a much better plan.”

“What is it?” Stephanopoulos asked.

Sen. Chuck Schumer ripped the president’s false claim, tweeting: “We’re in the middle of a pandemic, and President Trump and the Republicans are still suing to end protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions.”
