Tina Fey Hosting Facebook Live Viewing Party on “Mean Girls” Day

Does it get any grooler?

Tina Fey will co-host an official Mean Girls viewing party for Facebook Live on October 3, which meme-forwarding fans know as Mean Girls Day. The special event will be livestreamed starting at 8:00pm ET.

Fey will be joined by friend Busy Philipps to chat about the classic movie, play trivia, answer fan questions, and give away prizes.

The online screening, presented by Broadway’s Mean Girls musical and Paramount Pictures, will also commemorate the 15th anniversary of the film’s release.

“Woo! That movie is 15 years old,” Fey says in a video announcement. “If that movie were a human person, it would be wearing booty shorts and ignoring me in public.”

Fey celebrated last year’s Mean Girls Day by joining the Broadway cast to rename a New York City block W. Fetch Street in honor of their hit show. In 2017 she, whatever, handed out cheese fries in front of the theater.

The SNL alum adapted her limitlessly quotable 2004 film Mean Girls into the Tony-nominated Broadway musical, updated with a new score by her husband, Jeff Richmond, and Legally Blonde’s Nell Benjamin. Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, the show features Grey Henson as gay student and Drag Race fan Damian, who helps an awkward newbie navigate their high school’s savage social hierarchy.

As part of this year’s Mean Girls Day celebration, those who purchase tickets to the musical between October 3 and October 7 will unlock special offers on select Broadway and tour performances.

Mean Girls is now playing at the August Wilson Theatre in New York.
