  1. I hate this sport, much like figure skating, it’s the person that doesn’t
fall is most likely going to win. Oh and good luck and all…

  2. It’s not just the retrograde laws that worry me. The scourge of Neo-Nazi
thugs roaming around the country, and probably Olympic Village are more
creepy. I can’t help but think of the 1972 Munich Olympics with the
horrible violence then. At least there was a sympathetic culture in Germany
in 1972. The same cannot be said about the national culture and mood in the
Russian Federation, today. The Russian thugs are persistant and highly
lethal. They are the real threat.

  3. Thank You Blake. You inspire me so much, just by being yourself and
standing up for what is right. We are all behind you. Stand strong, walk
tall and keep being an incredible person. Much <3 from back home in
    Christchurch.

  4. I feel so bad Blake ’cause I see how much you want to go and all your
reasons, which are good. But in the end (in my opinion) it’s really hard
for me to imagine gay athletes setting foot in Russia right now the way
things are. I won’t hold it against you or other gay athletes for going but
I can’t help feeling that way.

  5. be proud of who you are! i reckon russia’s anti gay laws are just
    ridiculous.

  6. I support you and wish you all the best at the Olympic Games. I will be
watching and waiting for your gold!

  7. If an openly gay athlete wins a medal and children are present in the
stadium or see it on television, then the athlete will be stripped of
his/her medal, arrested by the Russian police on the Olympic victory dais,
imprisoned for up to 15 days, charged with Homosexual Propaganda, fined
heavily, and then deported permanently from Russia in disgrace. Good on
these athletes if they’re prepared to risk their safety, and to lose their
medal under Russia’s recriminalisation of homosexuality statutes.

  8. Definitely the best way to reply to Russia anti gay laws.. Be proud and
    good luck for the Games!
